I’ve recently been working on a new portfolio not like anything I’ve ever done before — I’m doing physical collage work. And I can now tell you that glue is the enemy. These are just a few of my works, I have a few more. Hopefully I can come up with some ideas for next semester. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
So, I’m now fully immersed in senior year, living that crazy senior life (aka college applications and school). This year I was made head of photography for my school’s online newspaper, and so I’ve been trying to run my team. Basically, I’m saying that I’m super busy. BUT… I really wanted to put out an updated portfolio that I’m really proud of. There is so much I could put up here, really, and I’m going to start trying to force myself to post more often than I do. But, well, here’s the portfolio for now!
So, I know that I’ve been so bad about updating this. But, well, now I am. At least slightly. In a few days I hope to post an in-depth analysis of some winter finales for shows such as The Flash and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Looking forward to that. But now, on to other things.
First of all, I would adore you all if you could take this survey for me. It’s for this class I take. I promise all responses are completely confidential, however, your responses may be used in a paper, but without your name. It will only take about five minutes to complete.
There is so much going on in my life right now!!! So crazy and busy… anyway, I’m in AP Photography now!!! Really hard, but lot’s of fun!!! The best thing is that we’re going to get Photoshop uploaded to our computers soon!!! I hope to start posting some more, sorry if I don’t!!!
These days, we all criticize inconsistencies. A prime example comes from the recent film The Giver‘s differences from the original book. Some that I heard of from Nerdophiles, an awesome page, was about the inconsistencies between Jonas’ age and eye color, where Jonas sees his first color, the showing of time change, the dynamic of Jonas’ friendship with Asher and Fiona, and the knowing of showing of emotions by people other than Jonas and the Giver. All valid points, but I would like to bring up another point. What I want to say is quite simply this: There have been inconsistencies in literary works almost since the beginning. My biggest and best example that I can think of is the fact that Sophocles had a major inconsistency in his play Oedipus the King. Why, you ask, is this so important? Well, think: perhaps the inconsistencies are purposeful. What if they are placed there by the authors and the producers and scriptwriters to deliberately make you think? I mean, sure, it’s a big possibility that they were just by mistake, but I think that we should just view them as a way for the makers of the medium to get you to appreciate their work more and think about it in a deeper manner. What are your thoughts?
So, I just got back last night! Here are some photos from earlier in this summer: Flowers from June and August and fireworks from the Fourth of July. I need to work on my firework photo-taking skills.
I also need to work on my flower photo-taking skills! Please, let me know what you would like me to post next!!!
This summer is for sure the summer of adventure because I have been constantly busy. I think I may have been home for only 3 weeks during which I didn’t do anything. Let me walk you through just a bit of my summer.
At the very beginning of the summer I went to Saint Louis, Missouri for my cousins’ graduation.
Anyway, that was only about a week or so of my summer. Then I went to Washington DC.
Have a great week!!!
I just got back from two trips, guys! I am super tired, but I really just wanted to post one photo from each trip right now, then add more and explain the title of this series later. I hope you all are having a great summer!
Much more to come, I promise!
